Product Review: LOreal Pure-Clay

I recently picked up the revamped L’Oreal Pure Clay Treatment Mask’s at Ulta ($12.99/each) to test them out. The line includes three masks that claim to target different issues: Eucalyptus; Purify & Mattify, Red Algae; Exfoliate & Refine Pores, and Charcoal; Detox & Brighten. I used the masks three times in the past week, as recommended to achieve the best results. This product happily surprised me as I noticed improvement in my skin immediately! I totally recommend this skin care line.

The Eucalyptus mask is targeted for oily skin and claims to:

  • Draw out build-up of impurities
  • Absorb impurities and unclog pores
  • Visibly tighten pores
  • Reduce excess shine
  • Leave smoother, more mattified skin

The first thing I noticed with this mask is the firming effect it had on the skin. You can feel the mask working, and the tightening sensation lasts until the next day – incredibly impressive! After washing the mask off, I noticed my skin was smooth and clearer, which I credit to the unclogged pores.

The Red Algae mask is targeted for rough textured skin and claims to:

  • Draw out build-up of impurities
  • Unclog and tighten pores
  • Exfoliate dead skin cells and smooth imperfection
  • Leave smoother, refined skin

This is the only mask in the product line with added texture – tiny beads for exfoliating. This mask is suppose to sit on your face for 10-15 minutes before you wash off and exfoliate your face. Honestly, I don’t feel like it does anything sitting on my face, but I do feel the obvious exfoliation when washing it off.

The Detox mask is targeted for dull skin and claims to:

  • Draw out build-up impurities
  • Reduce dull skin and increase luminosity
  • Even out skin tone
  • Leave brighter skin and move even skin tone

I used this mask on my nose and chin where I notice uneven skin tone and redness around my nose. My only problem with this mask is that it is a wash off. With charcoal masks, I like to have a peel off so I can feel the dirt being pulled off. With that said, I still noticed clearer pores and brighter skin – so the mask does what it claims.

After testing out the pure-clay masks this past week, I highly recommend them to anybody. Obviously, you do not need to purchase all 3 if you do not have combination skin. Each of these masks sit on your face for 10-15 minutes before you wash them off to see clearer, brighter, and refined skin.

Have any of you tried this product? What do you think?

Until next time,
